Located at the end of Milk Street in an historic former grain mill, this 250-seat restaurant and gastropub boasts two stunning floors and two bars accented by exposed brick and beams and a warm design that makes it the perfect gathering spot for food, drinks and fun.

The first floor includes a brick patio that overlooks the lush Rose F. Kennedy Greenway and panoramic al fresco style windows, along with leather banquette seating, comfy high top tables and large hand-crafted wood tables perfect for large groups. The downstairs has the intimate feel of a wine cellar with its granite foundation walls, exposed beams and an open kitchen.

Originally designed by Boston icon Charles Bulfinch, the building was constructed in 1816 and much of the historic charm has been worked into the concept, design and decor.

Designer Kelly (Glynn) Laurence has described her latest innovation as, “…a place where rustic and modern elements meld seamlessly to create a casually-stylish environment.” She adds, “Historic granite blocks, exposed brick, massive wooden beams complemented by contemporary touches…creates a bright, inviting and character-filled space for tourists, families and traditionalist Bostonians alike.”

The welcoming atmosphere is reaffirmed with clever, locally-focused gastronomic offerings, including an emphasis on Slow Food principles, fresh seafood, farmer’s market produce and dynamic presentations. There is a focus on healthy preparations while classic comfort food concepts are enhanced by unique accompaniments.

The Granary Tavern is open daily for lunch, dinner, after work crowds, dining, late night snacking and is a great place to meet for cocktails and conversation. Brunch is also offered on Saturdays and Sundays.
